“Alejandra Díaz is Colombian and has studies in political science and a post-graduate degree in corporate social responsibility. She is the head of growth for Colombia in MiCRO. She has over 14 years of experience in the insurance sector, leading the strategies of sustainability, financial inclusion, consumer protection, agricultural insurance and innovation of the insurance association of her country. She was member of the Board of Directors of the Microinsurance Network, responsible for the Inclusive Insurance Working Group at Fides and a fellow of the Cochran Fellowship Program of the United States Department of Agriculture. She is professor on sustainability in a well known university in Colombia.”

Alejandra Díaz is Colombian and has a bachelor’s degree in political science at Universidad del Rosario and a post-degree in corporate social responsibility from the Universidad Externado. She has more than 14 years of experience in the insurance sector.

Prior joining MiCRO as Head of Growth Colombia, she performed as director of financial inclusion and sustainability at the Colombian Insurers Association (Fasecolda). There she was responsible for the definition and implementation of the strategies to develop the inclusive insurance market, the agricultural insurance and to promote public policies and best practices in areas such as sustainability, consumer protection and innovation for the insurance market.

In those areas she led regulatory changes, public-private partnerships, build capacities in the insurance companies through training programs, developed information systems for the market and designed the industry financial education program. Most recently, she defined the insurance industry roadmap to contribute achieving the Sustainable Development Goals for Colombia.

She has been an international speaker, director of the Colombian Insurers Foundation (Fundaseg) and the Fundación Educativa Centralseguros. She was a member of the Board of Directors of the Microinsurance Network; responsible for the Inclusive Insurance Working Group of the Inter-American Federation of Insurance Companies (Fides) and a fellow of the Cochran Fellowship Program of the United States Department of Agriculture.

Alejandra is also a post-graduate professor at the Universidad de la Sabana on sustainability issues and speaks Spanish and English.
